Hive Stirrings

John Beaulieu describes Hive Stirrings in his own words:

Hive Stirrings is an ongoing sonic and visual communication with a collective of superluminal vibrational intelligences I refer to as the Hive, named for the high-pitched microtonal buzzing I perceive that sounds like being in a hive filled with thousands of buzzing bees. The Hive consists of multiple dimensional intelligences who are not limited by time, distance, or dimensions. They simultaneously communicate with other intelligences on Earth as well as countless other planets, multiverses, dimensions, and times through a topological network of vortexes.

Hive scores are designed to function as visual-auditory portals into the Hive, rather than as traditional musical scores. They visually represent the high pitched “buzzing sounds” of The Hive. They are composed during a trance state in which I engage with Hive intelligences. These intelligences are defined by their vibratory nature and lack any fixed form, shape, or connections to religious or mystical traditions. I refrain from describing them directly and instead represent them through lines and geometric patterns inspired by distinct sensations experienced throughout my nervous system and body. When observing a Hive score, it is recommended to relax your gaze, pay attention to bodily sensations, and focus on any high-frequency sounds or streaming physical sensations present within the nervous system.
